The Saints LGBT+ Memory Project was started in 2020 by Natalie Pereira as a part of Queerfest 2020, the annual celebration of queer art, culture and experiences in St Andrews. The project has been continued to celebrate Queerfest 2022, and to represent and explore the ever changing experiences of queer people in St Andrews.

The Memory project features a photo and interview series with members of the St Andrews LGBT+ community sharing their experiences navigating their identities, their relationships and finding their place in St Andrews. We are always moving forward and growing as a community, and it’s important to stop for a second and look around to appreciate where we’ve come from.

QUEERFEST 2022-

The 2022 edition of the Memory Project compiled by the Queerfest Subcommittee provides an opportunity to reflect on the experiences of University of St Andrews staff, students and alumni. The edition features 15 stories, each uniquely and beautifully queer.

QUEERFEST 2020-

The Saints LGBT+ Memory Project's first edition by Natalie Pereira was launched in 2020 and consists of a series of 11 interviews with members of the St Andrews queer community. This series explores navigating their identities, their relationships and finding their place in St Andrews. St Andrews prides itself on giving LGBT+ students a community they can find a home in, and the faculty and staff networks are also represented by their fabulous LGBT+ members who are just as present and vital to the community having a voice.
